I was thinking about who I am and what my objective in life is. I mean, what is my main purpose?
God asked me if I was trying to change people’s perspective of themselves or their perspective of Him.
My response was quick. I thought, “I want to change both!”
God lovingly showed me that people can’t see themselves, or Him, differently until they have a new perspective. The mindset that they have built can’t be reconstructed until a new vision is in place.
God spoke to me, “Remember the three ‘P’s’! Perspective, Perception, and Purpose. I quickly began to look up each word along with each meaning.
Perspective-. a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view
Perception-the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses.
Purpose-the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.
I heard The Father share why these three “P’s” are so important.
He explained that our PERSPECTIVE is based on the experience and attitude we have formed in our minds. If we have a negative view then we won’t be able to see a positive outcome regardless of how hard we try. However, if we shift our mind to see how God sees a situation we can have a greater revelation.
The Father continued enlightening me about our PERCEPTION. This is the way we process information through our natural senses, but if we were hurt by words, actions, etc., then we can’t trust what we perceive through the lenses of those wounds. Perception is based on our truth and that can be a big fat lie!
We view ourselves not through rose-colored glasses, but through funhouse mirrors that distort our perception of the true self. It’s that skewed vision keeping us blocked from our true potential. If we begin to look through the Father’s eyes we will begin to see ourselves the way He created us to be. God created you, and because of that, He sees the real truth inside of you!
The last P was PURPOSE and that was the whole point. What is my purpose? I looked up the word purpose in the Bible and there I found the answer.
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
Romans 8:28 NLT
That was it! I was called for His purpose and not mine.
He showed me that my mind, will, and emotions wouldn’t allow me to understand His plan. I couldn’t trust what I heard or saw because I couldn’t envision the bigger picture. Finally, He brought me to the understanding that I needed to go higher to get that heavenly perspective.
God loves to give us new ways to see, hear, and understand. He is changing the way we are doing life so that we can reach our greatest potential seeing ourselves as his child. All of the trials and tribulations that we go through will be used for his good!
We need to remember that we are not an accident randomly placed here on earth, but we were sent here to change this world for Him. We are born for such a time as this and Yes, He did it all on purpose!
